Most of what kills us early is preventable. We keep skipping the checkups anyway.
Watch It! is a personal preventive-care assistant that turns "someday I should get that checked" into "here's what to do this week." It works because it does one thing well, respects your privacy, and lives on your device instead of yet another cloud.
Prevention works. People still skip it.
Blood pressure has no symptoms until it does damage. Colon cancer grows silently for years. Cholesterol builds up in the background. Most of the tests that catch these things are covered by insurance, take under an hour, and cost nothing at the point of service. We still skip them because no one is chasing us and there is no single place that says "book this in the next 30 days."
Don't be another health tracker. Answer one question.
Health apps ask users to log weight, calories, water, mood, and sleep. Most people quit within two weeks because the value trickles in and the work is constant.
Watch It! inverts that. We ask almost nothing. We tell you exactly what to do next, when it is due, and what it should cost. The value is immediate and the effort is close to zero. The home screen answers a single question:
Everything in the product serves that answer. Screenings you have never done? First. Benefits about to expire? Second. Screenings due this month? Third. Nothing else competes for attention.
Sixty seconds to set up. Then it runs quietly.
Personalize in a minute
Enter your age, sex assigned at birth, country, and optional family history. That is enough to build a schedule of preventive screenings tailored to you.
See your next action
The home screen shows a prioritized list of up to five things to do, mixing overdue screenings and benefits about to expire. Each item has a "Find provider" button.
Sync your calendar
One click downloads an .ics file. Import it once to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar and reminders arrive 7 days before every screening, on every device.
Track insurance benefits
Add dental, vision, massage, or therapy allowances. We show how much is left before the reset date so nothing expires unused.
Log each visit
Tap "Mark done" after any appointment. Your Health Score updates, the timeline shifts, and the next reminder is scheduled automatically.
Bring the summary to your doctor
One tap prints a clean preventive-care summary you can hand to your doctor at any appointment.
Every recommendation traces back to a public guideline.
Nothing in Watch It! is invented. Every screening, age threshold, and interval comes from a named public authority. Users can click "Learn more" on any card to see the source. This matters for user trust, clinician trust, and for us: we do not want to be in the business of setting medical guidelines. We just make the existing ones easier to follow.
Sources
USPSTF (US Preventive Services Task Force) for the majority of screenings. CDC for vaccines. American Cancer Society for cancer screening details. American Dental Association for dental. American Academy of Ophthalmology for vision. Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care and NHS for country-specific notes.
Personalization inputs
Age, sex assigned at birth, country, and optional family history. That is it. No wearable data, no lab uploads, no diagnoses. The minimum needed to produce an accurate recommendation.
Family history adjustments
A parent, sibling, or grandparent with colon cancer moves the user's colonoscopy start age ten years earlier. Similar shifts apply for breast, prostate, and heart disease. The rules match USPSTF and specialty-society guidance.
Country-aware coverage
The same screening is described differently for a US ACA user, a Canadian on provincial coverage, an NHS user in the UK, and someone on none of those. The clinical recommendation is identical. The coverage phrasing adapts.
Frequency and due dates
Each screening has a frequency in months (12 for annual, 24 for biennial, 120 for every ten years). Due date is calculated from the user's last logged date plus the frequency. When there is no history, it defaults to now, and the user is prompted to log any past checkups.
Coverage classification
Every screening is tagged as covered (typically 100% under insurance), shared (usually covered but requires a discussion with your doctor), self (free, done at home), dental (needs a dental plan), or vision (needs a vision plan). If the user has added a specific provider, the card says "Under your Blue Cross plan" instead of the generic label.
Transparent citations
Every screening card has a "Learn more" link that opens the authoritative source page. If a guideline updates, the label and content update too. No hidden logic.
What we do not do
No diagnosis. No lab-result interpretation. No treatment recommendations. No screening for conditions we do not have public guidelines for. We are a reminder engine for preventive care, not a clinical decision tool.
Priya, 42, works a desk job in Toronto.
Day 1. Priya sets up Watch It! during lunch. She adds her family history (mother had breast cancer at 48) and her employer benefits (dental, massage, physiotherapy). The app tells her she is due for a mammogram, a cholesterol check, and a dental cleaning. Her Health Score is 62.
Day 3. She books the mammogram on Wednesday. Because of her family history, the schedule started her ten years earlier than the default. She calls her family doctor and books the cholesterol panel for the following Tuesday.
Day 12. A calendar reminder pops up: her dental benefit resets in 47 days and she has one cleaning left. She books it.
Day 24. She logs the mammogram, cholesterol panel, and cleaning as done. Her Health Score rises to 91.
Day 30. Priya has caught up on three years of missed preventive care in four weeks, used $180 of benefits she was about to lose, and knows exactly what is next.
What actually changes when preventive care is easy.
Cancers caught early
Colonoscopies remove precancerous polyps before they can become cancer. Melanoma has a 99% survival rate when caught early. Cervical cancer is almost entirely preventable with routine Pap and HPV testing. Every one of these depends on someone remembering.
Chronic disease reversed
Prediabetes and early type 2 diabetes are often reversible with diet and lifestyle changes. High blood pressure and cholesterol respond to early intervention. Detection has to come first, and detection is what we make automatic.
Money that stays with the user
Uninsured colonoscopies cost $1,000 to $3,000. Mammograms $100 to $250. Preventive care is legally required to be covered in the US and Canada. Watch It! turns "I meant to book that" into "already done" so people stop paying for things their plan already covers, and stop losing hundreds in benefits every December.
Peace of mind
Anxiety about missed checkups drops when there is a single source of truth. Users report checking in for two minutes a month instead of googling "when should I get X" a dozen times a year.
Families that stay ahead
In Phase 2, family mode lets parents track their kids, spouses, and aging parents in one place. Preventive care becomes a household routine instead of a separate task for every person.
Privacy that respects the user
Health data does not need to live in the cloud to be useful. Everything Watch It! knows about a user stays on that user's device. No account, no server, no data sold. That is the promise, and it is why people trust us with information they will not put in another app.
Anyone with a body and a benefits plan.
Adults 30 to 60 with employer benefits
The core market. They pay for dental, vision, and paramedical every paycheque and lose most of it. They are also entering the age where cancer and cardiovascular screening starts to matter.
Uninsured or under-insured adults
The audience that most needs to know that preventive care is covered under the ACA. Watch It! surfaces free options and shows realistic cash prices for the rest.
Parents and adult children
People who already carry the mental load of remembering appointments for their kids and parents. In Phase 2, Family mode makes that load lighter.
Employers looking for a real wellness perk
In Phase 3, companies offer Watch It! to employees as a benefit. HR sees aggregate participation only, not individual data. Preventive-care compliance goes up and long-term claims come down.
